best remedies for dry chapped lips recommendations by dermatologists
In a recent article on effective treatments for chapped lips, Dr. Kiran Mian of Hudson Dermatology and Laser Surgery emphasized the importance of selecting lip balms with hydrating and protective ingredients.

She recommends products containing occlusives like petrolatum and lanolin, which form a barrier to prevent moisture loss, and humectants such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which draw moisture into the skin. Dr. Mian advises against lip balms with fragrances or menthol, as they can cause irritation. Additionally, she highlights the significance of using lip balms with SPF to protect against sun damage, which can exacerbate dryness. Regular application, especially before exposure to harsh environmental conditions, is crucial for maintaining lip hydration and preventing chapping.
